2006 Vismara V46

Composite Italian performance yacht from Vismara Marine in 2006. A firm emphasis on short-handed abilities, combined with stacks of clever design touches, makes this a very special cruising yacht. Launched in 2007 and with just three owners since new, including the renowned Florentine yacht designer Guido Spadolini, her current Italian-based owner has enjoyed summer cruising and club racing following a comprehensive 2020 refit, and now offers K8 for sale to make way for fresh projects. Her specification highlights include:- • Composite construction with unidirectional glass and carbon, vacuum laminated with epoxy resin to guarantee maximum lightness and weight concentration. • Recently replaced Yanmar 40hp diesel engine with Saildrive and 3-blade MaxProp or 2-blade folding racing propeller • Twin Solimar helm pedestals with composite helm wheels • Recently replaced rod standing rigging • Cruising (E-Glass) and add-on extended racing (carbon) bowsprits (note – racing bowsprit results in LOA of 15.40m) • Antal winches with electric main halyard winch • Garmin and Raymarine instrument package with mast-repeaters and chart plotter • Mastervolt battery charger and inverter • 3-cabin, 2-heads interior layout • Modified forward cabin with converting double berth to port and single berth to starboard • Painted bulkheads and carbon countertops • New wrapping vinyl cover topsides • New painted non-slip deck surfaces • Interior painting of bow and stern lockers • Mast disassembly, shroud and equipment replacement • Complete dismantling of deck equipment and overhaul/replacement • Complete renovation of the electrical system with LED lights • Complete replacement of electronic instrumentation • Overhaul of the hydraulic system and replacement of flush seacocks • Engine overhaul (later replaced in 2023) • Rebuilt bowsprit for composite cruise configuration (1.10 m with integrated anchor) and carbon regatta (1.90 m); interlocking dolphin replacement mechanism; • Antifoul removed and 2 coats of epoxy added • Removable recessed stern platform with integrated ladder • Cockpit table with removable carbon feet • Textile backstay for regattas and rigid for cruising • Code 0 and staysail equipment The project is based on the V46 2005 design and it is an evolution of the Vismara 46 ”BELLADONNA” and “DRAGON” as a new IRC for racing/cruising use. In particular, Vismara has developed different types of hull, appendage and sail plan, and worked on the construction systems, layout of the interiors, weight distribution, deck geometries and the overall conceptualisation of the project and of the necessary optimization for racing in our area.
