The Westerly Storm is a well-regarded yacht designed by Ed Dubois. They are great all-rounders and very capable in any weather. Up forward, there is a large V berth cabin with stowage underneath. A hanging locker, washbasin and mirror. Deck opening hatch to the foredeck. Moving aft into the saloon, there is a U-shaped dinette to port which turns into a double berth. Fixed table with double drop leaves in the centre. A single settee berth opposite to starboard. The forward-facing chart table is to starboard with some navigation equipment and the electrical distribution panel. Oilskin locker just behind. The L-shaped galley is opposite to port, with a two-burner gimballed gas cooker with grill and oven. A deep cool box with fridge unit (compressor and cooling plate new 2025), twin stainless sinks with a hot and cold pressurised water system finishes off the galley. In the port quarter off from the galley is a double cabin with hanging locker. In the starboard quarter is a spacious head with washbasin, manual marine toilet, and shower. Blue upholstery. 70 litre water tank capacity with a spare second tank in place but not plumbed in. Manual marine toilet with Tektank holding tank. Located behind the companionway is the Volvo Penta D1-30 marine diesel engine fitted new in 2019. Three cylinders, 27hp, freshwater cooled via a heat exchanger. Electric start. Single lever controls. Stainless steel 70L tank. Shaft drive to feathering 3 bladed propeller. Rope cutter. Annually serviced. Masthead rigged Bermudan sloop. Deckstepped alloy mast & boom. Stainless steel standing rigging (2018). Terylene running rigging (various years). Two Antal W44 self tailing sheet winches. Karver compact 45 and Barient 24 halyard winches. Slab reefing mainsail with a stackpack. Selden headsail furling system. Spinnaker pole. Mainsail / OneSails / Dacron / 2020 Genoa / OneSails / Dacron / 2022 Cruising chute Spinnaker Storm jib / Jeckells Built by Westerly in 1988 to an Ed Dubois design. Off-white GRP hull with blue styling strips. Off-white GRP superstructure painted non-slip deck finish. Fin Keel. Tiller steering to a spade hung rudder. Hull was coppercoated in 2015/16.
