1987 Victoria 30

The Victoria 30 was designed by Chuck Paine and has gorgeous lines. They are also extremally capable offshore cruisers, will accommodate 6 and can be sailed short handed. Boston Belle was built in 1987/88, has been upgraded throughout her life and has clearly been well looked after. A full survey was carried out in 2023 with only a few minor issues noted, all of which have been attended to. Current owners have cruised in her to the Isles of Scilly (2023) Irish Sea, Inner Hebrides up to Skye (2024/25). She has been prepared for a cruise to the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and beyond, however owners now looking for a larger boat for cruising longer term with growing family and friends. A Chuck Paine classic, moulded by Northshore to Lloyds spec, and fitted out by Victoria Marine, the Victoria 30 is an extremely pretty double-ender with good handling under sail, and beautifully finished accommodation. First produced in the USA as the Leigh 30, the Victoria 30 was designed by Chuck Paine in 1979, as an unashamedly traditional small cruising yacht. Built in the UK from 1982 to the mid 1990s, they are faster than you might expect thanks to a fairly modern hull form, with a long keel added for directional stability. Unlike more traditional long-keelers with a 'wineglass' hullform, there is a clearly defined transition between hull body and keel. 'Yachting Monthly' described the design as ".... we were impressed by the speeds she attained" and "She had the sure-footedness and easy motion that you associate with a well-shaped long-keeled yacht of medium displacement".
